The Shame is Great Part Eight
I can't believe it is part eight! Can the Cardinals lose anymore games in a row??? This is quite pathetic. They are starting to remind me of the Illini football team. Hopefully they can rebound when the Royals come to town this weekend or I think we can kiss postseason play goodbye. (Although being in the crappy Central Division, they are still miraculously in first place.) Is the American League really that good???

Mommy Needs Some Chocolate
Shake Down Artist
Carlie has become quite the shake down artist when it comes to money for her piggy bank. Every day she gets my wallet out of my purse searching for coins. Once she puts the coins in, she hands the pig to me and says "Oooo, it is sooo heavy". She is definitely not afraid to ask for money so if you have any loose change, she will gladly take it off your hands.

Carlie's Big Movie
Carlie got to see her first movie at the theatre yesterday. It was Clifford's Really Big Movie at the Free Family Film Festival at the Mills Mall. She really enjoyed it, and we will be going to several more throughout the summer. Speaking of the Mills Mall, it is up for sale if anyone is interested.
The Shame is Great
After last nights disastrous performance against the White Sox, I think it is time to consider trading Mulder while they can still get something for him. Maybe they could throw in Izzy as well, but that might worsen their offer (ha ha). Well the only positive coming out of last night is that the Cards still have a 5 game lead over Reds. I hope Albert recovers soon as it is only a matter of time before Rolen gets injured again.

Election Training
Well, I had my election training today for the primary elections this August. It was quite comical. For starters, I was the youngest by at least 20 years, possibly 30. It should have only taken an hour, but the amount of questions, complaints, and ramblings made it last close to three. I wanted to bang my head against the wall about half way through- you would think we were trying to put a rocket into space. "Why isn't the county going door to door teaching people how to use these new machines?", "The system is fine the way it is", and "Why did they have to switch from colored ballots to numbered ballots, that's way too confusing". People were complaining about why there would only be four people signing voters in. They felt it would go much faster if there were more people to help. The trainer simply told them that if they had more people willing to work the polls, that there would be more people to help sign in. (duh) Others complained that having to inform voters they had a choice between touch-screen voting and bubble scan voting was much more work than previous elections (didn't quite get their argument, but whatever). I could go on and on, but I'll spare you the mind-numbing details. All for now.

Slush Puppie
Tennessee Vacation

We had a nice time in Tennessee. It would have been better had I not been sick the majority of the time. Carlie had a fun time swimming and playing on the playground. She keeps talking about all the wild animals she saw-- chipmunks, a raccoon, and a skunk. She also liked the waterfalls. Now we are back home and hoping to finish Carlie's new room in the next few weekends. Once complete we will start the renovation of the bathroom. Should be quite interesting since we will do most of it ourself.
