To the Symphony We Will Go

Tuesday, I participated in the 1st-3rd grade field trip at Carlie's school. Since my uncultured self had never been to the symphony, I was definitely fascinated with the opportunity. It surpassed my expectations, and I am ready to return. Powell Symphony Hall is stunningly beautiful.

While there I noticed Michael W. Smith will be performing a Christmas concert. That would sure be a treat to see. I've seen him in a Christmas concert before with Amy Grant and Point of Grace, and he is just fabulous. (For any of you reading between the lines, this is a gift idea for those less able to catch my subtleness.)

The kids will be returning again in February for another field trip, so I think I will be signing up to drive for that one as well.

Wedding Recap

Okay. I don't have a ton of wedding pics to post because they didn't turn out all that great. I was having lighting issues with the extra bright sunlight. And, during the ceremony I was standing up there as a bridesmaid and would have looked quite ridiculous if I was snapping pics. Oh well. Here's hoping the wedding photographer got some good pics for us all.

Carlie was, of course, fabulous as the flower girl. She also liked the thank-you gifts that came with the position... silly bands, personalized bracelet, glow sticks. We did have wonderful weather (despite the glaring sunlight and the falling acorns that hit a groomsman right in the middle of the ceremony.) Casey looked beautiful, and Doug cleans up well. I think it's the first time I've seen him in something other than Cleveland Browns or Indians attire-- Go Tribe!

I wasn't at the reception long as Noah fell asleep during dinner, and I had to take him back to the cabin and put him to bed. It was great to see a lot of extended family even though I didn't get to visit with them long. Congrats, Doug and Casey!!

Pumpkinland

Friday, Carlie had the day off school so we headed over to Thies Farm for Pumpkinland. Well, first we went to Walgreens to get flu shots, and I wish I brought the camera in. I don't know why they had a total meltdown before they got the shot. I guess I shouldn't have gone first. As soon as they received them, the crying completely shut off. Noah was asking all afternoon if he had to get another flu shot. Don't know if he realizes he will most likely get some shots at his 4 year appt. next week.

The visit to Pumpkinland was fun, but it was quite warm. I enjoy these things much more when it is cool outside. The kids still enjoyed themselves, and I used the last of my blow money to buy them some small pumpkins. I think the kids need their own blow money envelope because they use up all of mine.

Birthday Bug

Today we celebrated Noah's 4th Birthday! Wow, time sure flies by. That means it has been 4 years since the Cards won the World Series, but who's counting.

We started off the day by heading to the bowling alley. Unfortunately, they were having a fundraiser, and we only had time to bowl one game. We'll have to do rapid bowl more often as Mike got his second best score ever, 193. I came in last, but to my credit, I did not use the ramp for assistance (and the bumpers don't count.)

Thanks to all who sent his wonderful presents. He has already played with all of them and doesn't want me to wash his new clothes before he wears them. I think Daddy is wishing the Star Wars outfit came in his size. And, he has started training and looks to teach Cousin Trent a thing or two about boxing when he sees him again.

Wearing the same "Birthday Boy" shirt he has had since he was two. I don't think it will fit when he turns 5 ;-(

Carlie was so sweet. She gave him some of her coins from her piggy bank and taped them in his card. She is such a giver.

Yo, Adrian, I'm 4!!!

Funny Things

Yesterday, Noah and I went to my BSF class. He goes to "Bible School" while I have my study. We are asked to take them to the restroom before dropping them off. Yesterday, I had to go to the bathroom really bad. I asked Noah if he had to go, and he said yes. He always has to go first. So, I'm waiting for him to go, sort of doing the potty jig, and he is just sitting there.

I say, "Noah, do you have to go poo?"

He said, "No, just pee."

Me: "Well, hurry up because I really have to pee bad."

Noah, thinks about that tid bit of info then says...

"If I did have to go poo, you would pee in your pants! Hee, hee!"

He's always got those comeback zingers, kind of like "What is that smell? What is that BAD smell?" (You can ask Mike about that one :-)

I've Been Busy

As you can tell if you even read this blog anymore, I haven't posted in awhile. Since school started I have been spending a lot of time in the car, so other things tend to go out the window (blogging being one of them.)

I have also been spending an excessive amount of time trying to figure out how to change fonts on the blog and create my own header so I didn't have to pay someone to do it for me. Well, I did figure it out ("not just a hat rack" as Mike always says) even though it isn't perfect, and I can find 100 things wrong with it, at least I saved a few bucks.

The next few weeks are quite busy as I have Kappa Delta Founder's Day tomorrow night, Casey's wedding next weekend, and my 20-year high school reunion on Saturday---Gasp! I will do my best to put up the pics in a timely manner. Maybe you will get lucky, and I will set the reunion photos to music. I like doing that when I have a lot of pictures. That is, if I get a lot of pictures at the reunion.

Oh, and Mike had a birthday yesterday! Happy Birthday, Honey! We all love you!

More later. Gotta get back in the car. (And, figure out how to make my own signature on the blog)
